Where is it Happening?

The Pitch Contest will be taking place on-site at the Face Convention Centre in Bucharest, Romania, as a sub-event at the annual How to Web conference. The conference is expected to attract over 3,000 attendees, 500+ startups, dozens of speakers.

When is it Happening?

The Pitch Contest will be taking place on Thursday 3rd October from 11am to 1pm. Check out the official How to Web conference agenda for the latest updates about the Pitch Contest’s schedule.

Who’s Participating?

The Ventures Thrive Pitch Competition will bring together the 10 finalists from the second cohort of VT startups. Though all based in Europe and operating within the deeptech ecosystem, the startup finalists are developing technologies pertaining to a variety of subsectors, including but not limited to health, medicine, energy, and agriculture and waste.

The full list of participants is, thus, as follows:

  • Enzum - changing energy storage management through smart energy solutions.
  • LynXes - opening new horizons for industrial and academic R&D.
  • EyeCheckup - using AI for non-invasive diagnosis of eye, heart, and kidney diseases.

What’s at Stake?

The 10 finalists will be pitching their innovations for one last time (at least during their VT journey) in front of investors, press attendees, general audience members, and of course, a panel of esteemed judges.

During their given time slots, the finalists will attempt to convince the judges of their team’s competencies, their innovation’s expected impact, and their business model’s effectiveness, amongst other things.

By the end of the competition, the three best-performing startups will take home the top prizes up for grabs: €15,000 (first place), €10,000 (second place), and €5,000 (third place).
