We’re counting down the days to the final Ventures Thrive Pitch Contest, where ten of Europe’s brightest startups will vie for one of the three top prizes up for grabs.

After participating in a comprehensive Growth Programme - tailored to improve participants’ investment readiness - the finalists will be pitching their innovations to a panel of judges for one last time at the 2024 How to Web conference..

So, as the 3rd of October draws near, we’re taking some time to reintroduce you to the 10 finalists: from healthtech to greentech and everything in between, there’s no shortage of excellence in this cohort of startups.

Animacel

Animacel is helping animals suffering from chronic joint diseases to regain their mobility using stem cell technologies. Stem cell therapy is a minimal invasive treatment that offers a long-term effect and it can be done by veterinarian professionals. Animacel was established as a spin-out company of the Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana in 2011 as a result of a revolutionary technology based on cutting-edge science in the stem cell therapy area.

BrainTrip

BrainTrip is developing the first practical EEG-based Point-of-Care dementia screening test. The startup was founded by David Sakić and Jurij Dreo, a pair of lifelong brain enthusiasts, with backgrounds in cognitive science and neuroscience. Combined, Jurij and David have more than 20 years of experience in analysing EEG data, and they have been working on the BDI for the past 5 years. 

Enzum

Enzum is changing energy storage management in Central Europe and the Nordics by optimising energy independence and reducing CO2 emissions through smart energy solutions. Utilising advanced machine learning and AI, the Enzum platform enhances the profitability and lifespan of energy storage assets by intelligently managing charging schedules and trading strategies.

EyeCheckup

EyeCheckup diagnoses the top three blindness causes in the working population, as well as hypertensive retinopathy and other retinal disorders - a total of 8 diseases leading to permanent vision loss. EyeCheckup is used by primary care for quick and affordable screening of eye, heart, and kidney disorders to replace comprehensive exams by the specialists.

LynXes

LynXes’ mission is to open new horizons for industrial and academic R&D by democratizing the access to high-energy-resolution X-ray spectroscopies (HERXS) technology. LynXes has created desktop-sized material analyser devices that provide detail-rich results comparable to billion-euros-cost large scale facilities but at a fraction of the cost.

Optiyol

Optiyol reduces transportation costs and improves visibility for companies in their last-mile, long-haul, and middle-mile operations. This startup integrates driver preferences, business strategies, variability of demand, and traffic to create both efficient and practical route plans autonomously.

Proofminder

Proofminder is an AI leaf-level farming platform to enable growers to produce more food in a sustainable way. This game-changing solution not only unlocks the potential of plant and leaf level precision Ag, but also allows the creation of new business models for Agroindustry. Proofminder ‘puts’ an AI agronomist next to each plant to enable growers to meet production goals sustainably.

Psychomeasure

Psychomeasure is pioneering the field of computational language analysis for mental health. The company’s products automate speech analysis and generate powerful visual graphs that can be used for identifying individuals at risk for mental health disorders and support diagnosis as well as self-insight.

SOLIDU

SOLIDU creates ethical, innovative, and waterless beauty products packaged in 100% backyard compostable boxes. Not only does this startup eliminate plastic from its products, but its unique packaging is also backyard compostable and biodegrades in just 45 days. With each sale, SOLIDU makes a tangible difference, reducing plastic waste, lowering CO2 emissions, and conserving fresh water resources.

WeedBot

WeedBot offers a highly precise laser technology that eliminates harmful weeds to a millimetre’s precision. This innovative weeding technology gets rid of harmful weeds faster and more efficiently than any human power and significantly improves upon cost. WeedBot replaces the complex task of managing employees, allowing users to focus on what is most important.
